Verses I Loved This Morning...

Proverbs 30:5 EVERY word of God is flawless; He is a shield to those who take refuge in Him.

Proverbs 30:8-9 Keep falsehood and lies far from me; give me neither proverty nor riches, but give me only my daily bread. Otherwise, I may have too much and disown you, and say, "Who is the Lord?" Or I may become poor and steal, and so dishonor the name of my God.

I <3 God's Word!

Project Life

I'm so excited! I just ordered my Project Life kit from Becky Higgins. Check out this link if you have no clue what I'm talking about Project Life
I feel like a kid waiting for Christmas. I can't wait until Saturday until it arrives...(God, help the postman if it doesn't come on Saturday!!)
The main idea of this project is to document everyday of your life for 365 days. You're supposed to take one pic a day and do a small amount of journaling. I'm also looking forward to writing about my quiet time and daily prayer requests and praises. Sounds like a daunting task but I'm up for it! Can't wait! I'll let you know when it gets here!!!

You Big Bully!!

I will start with this verse...
Luke 6:27-28 But I tell you who hear me: Love your enemies, do good to those who hate you, bless those who curse you, pray for those who mistreat you.

This is the verse I gave to me son today. He's having trouble with a boy at school who is bullying him. For months now he has come home telling me how the boy kicks his books, slams his locker shut, and buts into conversations saying things like, "Yea, your cool, Dylan". Today after school Dylan was fuming! The boy had kicked and stepped on his books, and hit him with a book. At that point I had to go to his teacher. He doesn't know that I did, but I don't want to Dylan to be pushed and finally retaliate and then get into loads of trouble. So I let his teacher know what has been happening. I've also began keeping documentation of every incident for future use if necessary. Any other suggestions on how to handle this???

Valentines (Yes, it's almost that time!)

Just made Holly's Valentines for her Kindergarten class and thought I would share. (Dylan has announced to me that he is absolutely NOT passing out Valentines! I guess 5th grade is the big year!) I used my Cricut. I used the sweethearts and paper pups cartridges. I attached the puppy and bone to flat lollipops that I got for $1 from Target.
Wow, still 3 weeks til Valentines and I'm ready! How'd that happen??

A Lamp Unto My Feet

I love Sundays. I love going to church and seeing my church family. But of course, most importantly, I love digging into God's Word and hearing the godly wisdom of our leaders at church. My Sunday School teacher has started a new series called "Back to Basics". Our challenge this week is to memorize a Scripture, being ready to share next week. I'm so thankful for this challenge!! I used to be the Scripture Memorization Queen! I've always known how important and crucial it is to hide God's Word in my heart. But along the way, I've gotten complacent and not memorized Scripture regularly as I know I should. So, thank you, Pastor Clay for encouraging us with this challenge! I am up for it! The verse God has laid on my heart to memorize this week is:
Isaiah 43:18-19 Forget the former things; do not dwell on the past. See, I am doing a new thing! Now it springs up; do you not perceive it? I am making a way in the desert and streams in the wasteland.

I would love to hear what Scripture you are hiding in your heart this week!

If -Then

I found a treasure today!! I know alot of my mom friends (like me) are looking for godly, consistent, effective ways to discipline our children. But so many times (at least in my house) things turn ugly! Whether it's raised voices (the Christianly way to say "yelling") or just flat ignoring a behavior because I don't have the strength to deal, discipline doesn't always go the way I know it should to raise my children to be godly adults. I found an if/then chart that clearly and consistently lays out behaviors and consequences. I plan on sitting down with my children and discussing and preparing them for this tool that I think will work wonderfully!!

Here's the link: If/Then Chart

Let me know what you think!

31 Day Challenge

Join me in the 31 Day Challenge in Proverbs. It's amazing how I have read Proverbs many times during my daily devotions, but God is able to show me fresh and new truths every time!! I hope you enjoy Proverbs as much as I do!!
